Goalkeepers have unique skills that require development outside of the typical team practice setting. Sockers FC Wisconsin recognizes that goalkeepers need specialized training. To make sure that we can provide them with the best possible programs, we have a dedicated Director of Coaching (DOC) for goalkeeping and staff goalkeeper coaches.
regular season training
For most clubs, regular season means fall and spring. For us here at Sockers WI, it means fall, winter, and spring. All through regular season, we provide academy and select players with specialized goalkeeper training practices in addition to standard team practices. During both fall and spring we will develop a schedule that has our staff goalkeeper coaches available at our various practice locations most weeknights. We may also add some Friday and weekend sessions when possible. Keep an eye out for the schedule as we bring our coaches to different locations to reach all of our goalkeepers.
no extra fees
Most clubs consider goalkeeper training an add-on, which families need to schedule and pay for. Our club believes that a goalkeeper should not have to pay extra fees to get goalkeeper training. With that being said, goalkeeper training is included in the base program fees for both academy and select programs.
camps and clinics
We run multiple goalkeeper clinics during the year, typically in winter and in summer. Some of those clinics combine goalkeeping and finishing, while others focus on specific goalkeeping topics and skills. Check the web site and your email for times, dates and costs.
