Sockers FC Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization, where most of the activities are run by volunteers. These volunteers are all of us:-) We man the concessions, stripe the fields, collect parking fees during tournaments, or man tryout registrations. Each of us owes a small number of hours in the year.
Every year our Board determines how many volunteer hours each member owes. For the 2012–2013 season, each family needs to provide 6 hours of volunteer work. The Board also decides on a volunteer fee, which families pay at the beginning of the season, and which is refunded to you after your hours are completed. We send out refund checks (or credit card refunds) approximately 30 days after receiving your volunteer hours completion form. The number of hours and the volunteer deposit are subject to change on an annual basis as approved by the Board.
At the beginning of the fall and spring season, we provide volunteer signup sheets on this website. We use a website named SignUp Genius, which allows families the flexibility to choose shifts that work with their schedules. Here is an example.
It is your responsibility to make sure that you work your hours before the end of the season, and to report that they are complete in a timely manner. We need to receive your volunteer hours completion form by June 30 in order for you to eligible for reimbursement.
Volunteer signups can be found in the Members section.
